Planning a baby shower is one of the most exciting parts of welcoming a new arrival — and the balloon styling sets the entire mood. Whether you’re going for timeless elegance, boho charm, or something bold and modern, the right balloon display transforms any space into something truly special.
We’ve styled baby showers across Kent, and in this guide we’re sharing everything we’ve learned — from the themes people love most, to the colour palettes that photograph beautifully, to the different types of balloon displays and what works best in different spaces.
Trending Baby Shower Themes for 2025
The days of “just pink or blue” are long gone. Today’s baby shower themes are considered, personal, and designed to create a real atmosphere. Here are the five themes we’re styling most across Kent right now.
“Oh Baby”
The modern classic. Soft neutrals — white, cream, champagne gold — with an organic garland as the centrepiece. Works for any gender, any venue. The “Oh Baby” script in gold foil or acrylic sits within the garland for that perfect photo moment.
Teddy Bear Picnic
Warm browns, creams, and honey tones. Think mocha mousse balloons with wooden accents and dried florals woven through. Cosy, nostalgic, and absolutely stunning for autumn and winter showers.
Botanical & Greenery
Sage green, eucalyptus, and white with real or faux foliage threaded through the balloon garland. Fresh, natural, and gender-neutral. Works beautifully in garden marquees and village halls alike.
Over the Moon
Navy, gold, and white with star and moon confetti balloons. Dreamy and celestial — particularly popular for evening baby showers and winter celebrations. Chrome gold balloons add serious sparkle.
Safari & Woodland
Earthy greens, tans, and warm whites with animal-print accents. A playful theme that still looks elegant when styled with organic balloon garlands and natural textures. A favourite for parents who want something fun without the cliché.
Stylist’s Tip
The best themes feel personal rather than “off the shelf.” Tell your stylist about your nursery colours, your favourite flowers, or even your pet — we can weave personal touches into any balloon display to make it uniquely yours.
Baby Shower Colour Palettes That Work
Colour is where the magic happens. The right palette ties everything together — balloons, table styling, flowers, cake — and creates that cohesive, “how did they make it look so good?” effect. Here are our five most-requested palettes for 2025.
1. Sage & Butter (Gender Neutral)
Our most popular palette right now — and for good reason. Sage green with butter yellow, warm ivory, and touches of white creates a fresh, modern look that works for any gender and photographs beautifully in natural light.
Sage Green · Butter Yellow · Warm Ivory · White
2. Dusty Pink & Mauve (Classic Girl)
The grown-up version of “pink.” Dusty pink paired with mauve, rose gold metallics, and white creates a romantic, sophisticated palette that feels elevated rather than saccharine. Pearlescent balloon finishes add a beautiful shimmer.
Dusty Pink · Mauve · Blush · Rose Gold
A soft pink and white palette — timeless and elegant
3. Mocha & Cream (Warm Neutral)
Inspired by Pantone’s 2025 Colour of the Year, Mocha Mousse. Rich chocolate-brown tones paired with cream, champagne, and burnished gold. Sophisticated and warm — perfect for the teddy bear picnic theme or any winter shower.
Mocha Mousse · Alpine Oat · Cream · Burnished Gold
4. Powder Blue & Silver (Classic Boy)
Blue doesn’t have to mean primary blue. Powder blue with silver chrome, white, and pale grey creates a gentle, dreamy palette. The chrome balloons catch the light beautifully and add a modern edge to a traditional colour story.
Powder Blue · Silver Chrome · White · Dove Grey
5. Wildflower (Boho)
For the free-spirited mum-to-be. Terracotta, dusty pink, sage green, and ivory with dried flowers and pampas grass woven through the garland. Earthy, textural, and incredibly photogenic. This palette is at its best in outdoor or marquee settings.
Terracotta · Dusty Pink · Sage Green · Ivory
“The best baby shower palettes use three to four colours maximum. Any more and the display starts to feel busy rather than beautiful.”
Types of Baby Shower Balloon Displays
Not all balloon displays are created equal — and different types work better in different spaces. Here’s a guide to the most popular options and when to use each one.
Organic Balloon Garlands
The most popular choice for baby showers — and our speciality. An organic garland uses different sizes and shades of balloon clustered together in a flowing, natural arrangement. They can drape across a wall, frame a doorway, cascade down a table, or create a stunning backdrop for the gift table.
Best for: Any venue · Behind the mum-to-be’s chair · Dessert table backdrops · Photo walls
Balloon Arches
A statement entrance or a frame for the main event. Full arches create a “wow” moment as guests arrive, while half arches (also called demi arches) work beautifully in corners or beside a feature table. Arches are particularly stunning with chrome or confetti balloons mixed in.
Best for: Venue entrances · Photo opportunities · Framing a cake table · Garden parties
Backdrop Displays
A full balloon wall or panel behind the main table creates the ultimate photo backdrop. Guests will photograph themselves in front of it all day — which means your baby shower ends up all over social media. We often combine a backdrop with an acrylic sign or foil letter balloons spelling the baby’s name.
Best for: Larger venues · Gender reveals · Instagram-worthy moments
Table Centrepieces & Clusters
Not every display needs to be a showstopper. Small clusters of three to five balloons at different heights make elegant table centrepieces, and individual balloons with tulle or ribbon tails add a finishing touch. These smaller touches tie the whole room together.
Best for: Finishing touches · Restaurant celebrations · Budget-friendly styling
Venue Tip
Always check your venue’s ceiling height before booking balloon styling. Low ceilings suit garlands and table displays; high ceilings are perfect for tall arches and floating clusters. We visit Kent venues in advance whenever possible to plan the perfect layout.
Styling Tips from Our Studio
After styling countless baby showers across Kent — from village halls in Faversham to restaurants in Maidstone — here are the tips we always share with our clients.
1. Start with your colour palette, not your theme
Choose three or four colours you love first, then build the theme around them. This approach gives you far more flexibility and avoids the “party shop” look where everything matches too literally.
2. Mix balloon sizes for depth
The difference between a professional garland and a DIY one is almost always the sizing. We use five to seven different sizes in every garland — from 5-inch minis to 24-inch statement balloons — to create that organic, flowing look.
3. Add texture
Dried flowers, eucalyptus stems, trailing ribbons, or tulle woven through a garland take it from “just balloons” to something genuinely special. Natural textures photograph particularly well in daylight.
4. Think about the photo moments
Where will guests take photos? Where will the mum-to-be sit? That’s where your main display should be. A beautiful garland behind the gift-opening chair means every photo has a stunning backdrop. Think about it as set design, not just decoration.
5. Don’t forget the entrance
A small cluster or mini garland at the doorway sets the tone the moment guests arrive. It doesn’t need to be huge — even a few balloons in your colour palette with some trailing ribbon creates anticipation.

- A statement garland (6–8ft): from £120–£200
- Full garland with arch (10ft+): from £200–£350
