Chatham Historic Dockyard

Historic Venue

One of the most dramatic event spaces in Kent. The Dockyard's various private hire buildings — from the Commissioner's House to the Fitted Rigging House — create an extraordinary backdrop. Even a simple organic garland looks spectacular here.

Garland tip: Keep the palette sophisticated to complement the setting — warm metallics, dusty rose or earthy neutrals. Let the architecture do some of the work; the garland frames rather than fills.

A well-appointed hotel with flexible function suites on the edge of Chatham. The neutral interiors work with any colour palette, and the ceiling height suits generous, statement garlands and arches.

Garland tip: Go lush here — the rooms can take it. A substantial backdrop garland of 8ft or more, combined with a cake table cluster, creates a really polished result in these spaces.

Countryside Barn

A beautiful barn venue on the Hoo Peninsula. The exposed beams, stone walls and natural light make an incredible canvas for organic garland styling — the textures complement each other perfectly and photos always look stunning.

Garland tip: Warm neutrals — cream, ivory, champagne and sage — are made for this space. A long draping garland along the main beam is always a showstopper.
